AFFILIATE DISCLAIMER

I want to be as transparent and upfront about everything I do.

So, in accordance with basic FTC law, I want to disclose that there are certain products or services and links to those products or services on my site that will earn me an affiliate commission for any purchases you may make.

Wait, what?

Ok, before I go any further, let me clarify what it means to be an affiliate by sharing an exact definition from Merriam-Webster.

To be an affiliate is “to closely connect (something or yourself) with or to something (such as a program or organization) as a member or partner. The marketing part is simply me sharing on my platform(s).

Ok, give me an example of how this works.

Basically, it works like this… If there is a company or product that I use and believe in, I contact the company or the seller of the product and say,

“Hey, I use your product or service and love it. I want to share it with my audience because I believe it can help them in some way. Can you give me a special link to use so if someone wants this same product or service, that I will be also be compensated for marketing your product or service?”  (or something like that)

The company says, “Sure, Matt!”

Then bam, I get my link(s) to that particular product or service, and I share the link with you.

Do the products or services you recommend cost any more or less than if I get them somewhere else?

The links provided come at NO additional cost to you. The only difference is that by purchasing the product or service directly from the links that I provide, you help support my blog and my podcast. While I wish I could just workout with my wife, cook and eat healthy foods, and listen to inspirational podcasts, I do have expenses associated with my blog and podcast. For that reason, I include affiliate links for only certain products and services that I use or have used personally and love.

Understand that my primary goal with this blog and podcast is to inspire people to learn how to become the best versions of themselves in health, fitness, and overall wellness. I want to be able to help enough of you through Bent On Better that I am able to generate a full time income with this blog and podcast to do it full-time and support my family financially.

Therefore, I only include products and services that I actually think are worthwhile and useful. And, for the most part, those that I have personally used, with the exceptions being several books that others have recommended during podcast interviews.

However, full disclosure, the affiliate programs I am currently enrolled with include:

Audible

Amazon

Bluehost

I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about any particular product or service that I recommend on BentOnBetter.com. Personally, I believe affiliate marketing is an awesome concept that not enough bloggers or podcasters take advantage of.

Please do not spend money on any products, books, or services I mention on the site unless you feel you need them or they will aid in reaching your personal goals.

Moreover, about 90% of the links, photographs, content, etc. on BentOnBetter.com have no material connection to the brands, products, or services that I have mentioned.

If you have any questions about why or how I use affiliate marketing on the site, contact me directly at Matt@BentOnBetter.com.

To learn more about affiliate marketing on your own, you should swing by Pat Flynn’s site at smartpassiveincome.com. I learned A LOT about podcasting and affiliate marketing from him and he is pretty awesome dude.
(Fun fact, I call him my mentor, even though I haven’t met the guy personally…yet.)  😉
