We’re not your average gym
and this isn’t your average job
At Bent On Better, we make personal training personal
If you’re passionate about changing lives through coaching, fitness, and personal connection, this might be the career you’ve been searching for.
who we are
We care deeply about our team + our members. We’re not about endless reps or empty goals—we care about real progress that lasts.
We’re on a mission to change the industry “norm” + to help people move better, feel better, and become stronger (physically + mentally) so they can live their best lives.
We give our members + clients great training sessions while also educating + inspiring them to operate with autonomy so eventually, they can “graduate” from needing a workout program or trainer…and instead, choose to continue their journey because they want to.
We coach real humans: the busy professionals who’ve fallen off track, the retired grandparent with a hip replacement, the parent with back pain, and the person who’s afraid of the gym because it’s failed before.
Bent On Better is 100 percent family-owned + locally operated, with a team of awesome humans who deliver a top-tier training experience through a proven system that delivers life-changing results to clients.
This not a placeholder job
Bent on Better is a place to grow

- You’ll coach real people through real life challenges + change
- You’ll work in a tight-knit team that knows your name, your quirks, + your worth
- You’ll get real feedback, real mentoring, and real impact
If you want to be part of something bigger than yourself, you might belong here.
what it’s like to work here
What you’ll experience as part of the Bent On Better team:
- Correcting form + coaching real progress every day
- Helping people who’ve been let down by fitness (+ diet) culture
- Adapting on the fly, because no two humans are the same
- Taking ownership + showing up as a pro
- Holding clients and ourselves to a higher standard of accountability
- Having coaching conversations around health habits, not quick fix tips
- Getting better every day, just like the people we coach
You’ll definitely laugh. You’ll probably fold towels, take out the trash, and separate recycling. And if you’re lucky, someone might thank you for changing their life.

Thoughts from Current + past team members

“The coaches SUPPORT each other + genuinely want to help each other solve problems… There’s no need to compete for clients or harbor secrets about training techniques. We serve a greater purpose as it relates to health + wellbeing. Sure, we address body composition-related goals, and we hold our members accountable with their routines; but, training isn’t just about “losing weight” or “checking the box.” We break the cliché “work through pain” stigma by teaching our members how to interpret pain signals from the body and, subsequently, how to modify exercise to accomplish their training goals without doing further harm. These valuable skills transfer outside of the training environment + into everyday life. I appreciate that, as an employee, my work-life balance + boundaries are respected by my employer + colleagues. This contrasts the notorious “hustle culture” of small businesses in the fitness industry + comes as a sigh of relief, making this pursuit feel more like a career and less like a “job.”

“The #1 reason I’ve loved working for and with Bent On Better is the blessing of… opportunity. The opportunity to share and apply my professional knowledge, to grow continuously as a coach, and to feel part of a family while doing so! I was intentionally and graciously given the chance to use my expertise in sports and fitness to help change lives in ways I never could’ve imagined.”

“One of my favorite parts about employment at Bent On Better is the confidence… that I would have upward mobility and a clear path for growth within the company. I feel supported by the team and I have seen a lot of personal growth in myself [within the first year of employment], which I attribute to the team’s support. I also feel encouraged to show up to work every day and I truly love what I do, even on days when I feel tired.”

“One of my favorite things about working at Bent On Better is the genuine care… the coaches + community have for each member, no matter their circumstances. I appreciate how the team goes out of their way to support members, even in difficult times. I also enjoy the team’s thoughtfulness + willingness to help each other, which I think really sets Bent On Better apart from other places. I value the team’s ability to have open conversations, even when I was leaving, which I didn’t take for granted. And that I could return [after I left almost a year later + still feel welcomed.]”
why it’s worth it
You’ll help someone ditch a knee brace. Rebuild strength after a surgery. Feel powerful in a body they used to hide. You’ll support someone who never thought they could do a push-up, squat without pain, or just feel proud of their reflection.
You might be the reason someone keeps going. You’ll change not just that person’s life, but the lives of their kids, partners, coworkers, friends, and loved ones.
And they may never say thank you. But you’ll know…That’s the reward. That’s the job.
