Running Toward a Stronger Future

I used to be worried about how I would feel in the future but now I can’t wait to see where I’ll be.

I am a 48-year-old woman with 2 young children, who has always been active. I began to have problems with my feet early in my 40’s with plantar fasciitis.
Around age 45, I noticed that my joints were starting to hurt and I was becoming more susceptible to injury.
With the onset of menopause, my symptoms just continued to get worse. It got so bad that, although I could still walk & hike, I was no longer able to run after my kids.
They started referring to my ankles & feet as “mom’s bad feet”.
I knew the if I didn’t do something, things would just get worse and there was a good chance I wouldn’t be walking without assistance in 10 years.
I began with speaking with my doctor to rule out any underlying conditions and started to see a nutritionist who highly recommended Bent on Better to add strength training.
When I first limped into BOB I had 2 sprained ankles and a recent history of 2 knee sprains.
I was so nervous about hurting myself further but I signed up for a (3) month membership.
In just three months, my ankles & knees have healed, I have lost weight and become much more physically fit overall, but the best part is I CAN NOW RUN AFTER MY KIDS!
BOB is the best decision that I made for my physical health.
- I am building back the muscles in my feet, ankles and knees.
- I am stronger than I have ever been.
It is a big commitment, for me and for my family, but it is completely worth it.
